Written by David Jinks, designed and illustrated by Susan Scurlock, this Structures and Mechanisms CD is based on nine QCA Design and Technology Units of Work across the age range 5-11yrs.
Specifically aimed at supporting the primary school Design and Technology curriculum, these interactive resources have been created for Activprimary to provide opportunities for child participation at the interactive whiteboard demonstrating their learning and understanding.
The flipcharts incorporate innovative features within starter activities, investigations, practical activities and plenaries. Video clips demonstrate and promote practical skills and techniques, animated word walls reinforce and apply English, Maths and Science.
The Primary Engineer series has been accredited to the Promethean 'Powered' status. This means that the software includes the advanced features of Activprimary or Activstudio, such as integrated voting and handwriting recognition tools.
The Structures and Mechanisms CD is based on ‘thinking, designing and doing’. It provides opportunities for children to gradually improve their skills, knowledge and understanding of designing and making through interactivity with their teacher, their classmates and this powerful, new, supportive technology.
