The British Nutrition Foundation has produced five flipcharts to support the teaching of healthy eating in Primary schools. The flipcharts have been developed to support resources on the Food – a fact of life website, but can also be used individually to support general food and healthy eating teaching.
Food – a fact of life is the Foundation’s education programme. The Food – a fact of life website is packed with resources to support the teaching of healthy eating, cooking and where food comes from for pupils aged 3 to 16 years.
Resources include teachers’ notes, interactive activities, video clips, PowerPoint presentations, card activities and lots more. All the resources are free to download.
The British Nutrition Foundation has developed five new healthy eating flipcharts for primary school aged children.
The flipcharts, entitled Food and Healthy Eating, are aimed at children aged 5-8 years old, while those entitled Composite Dishes, Energy, and Nutrients, are aimed at children aged 8-11 years old.
These resources will allow Primary teachers to explore healthy eating with their pupils to help them gain a clearer understanding of what healthy eating means and how it can be achieved. All the flipcharts are accompanied with teaching notes, which can be accessed by clicking on ‘notes’ within each flipchart.
The flipcharts support the healthy eating resources currently on the Food – a fact of life website and provide an exciting new medium for delivering lessons.
