Hey guys (again) +wave+

Got a nice little suggestion for you, which would help my company make the final transition from PowerPoint to ACTIVstudio.

Currently, when presenting PowerPoint presentations, tutors use a Logitech infra-red remote mouse. The mouse has a "presentation" setting, whereby the left click advances the slide / stage forward and right click goes back a slide / stage.

This really is the only reason I'm still creating PowerPoint presentations as it's so easy to go backwards and forwards while presenting as the tutors here really don't like to use the pen when presenting large amounts of information at once.

Any chance of anything like this, or something similar that could help? Maybe something linked in with the flipchart recorder?

Many thanks.

Hi Dave

I have a remote mouse. It's not Logitech, but Gyration. It has a button underneath so that you can click and hold that button, whilst using the left or right buttons to click as normal. The idea of the third button is that you can point it in midair and use it. I've just created a 3 page flipchart and used my mouse off the table to turn the pages. It worked fine.

Hi Sharon,

Unfortunately, the courserooms that we use do not facilitate the way in which you are using your mouse. To be quite honest, the tutors here would highly disagree with using the mouse in that manner for presentations. :( They're rather difficult... haha.

Thank you!

Dave.

I use a Gyration mouse as well. It is a wireless mouse with eiuther a 30 foot or 100 foot range. As the name implies, it has a small gyroscope inside of it which is engaged when the underside button is selected. It works just like a presenter.

I also have a presenter remote(ATI and Kensington) I would love to have a page forward command that I can just click the page forward, but then the click on the desktop would have to b changed....

I guess that is why we use the orange arrow. You really ought to try the gyration. You can also program it to initiate certain commands with certain hand movements!!!

If there was a keyboard shortcut to move a flipchart to the next/previous pages, i think i could set my remote mouse up to use these shortcuts. any chance of that???

many thanks.
