hi

if I install activeinspire on ubuntu, would I also need to install SMART drivers to get the board working with activeinspire? I tried a while ago to get the smartboard working on 8.10 and gave up eventually.

do I need to install both SMART drivers and ActiveInspire to use the board and software together?

thanks
Dave

I think you will need to install the linux driver for smart only. Not sure if that exists.
Linux driver that comes with Activinspire will only look for Promethean hardware.

You are both correct.

If you have a SMART board and it is working with your Linux machine, then the Inspire software should be controlled like any other software.

If you have not used Linux with your SMARTboard before, SMART would need to provide you with the Linux driver (the software that connects their boards to your computer) for your version of Linux.

Check the SMART website for details of the SW for Linux.
