Recent conversations with some teachers who use voting regularly have said how having it available all the time in the lesson has enhanced the way they teach. They are now saying that they know more about their pupils' understanding during a lesson as the pupils always have voting device in their hand. "Shall I repeat my explanation ? How confident are you with that concept ? Who understood the homework?".
They are getting the pupils to log on to a device by entering the three letter pin code and then at any point the lesson pupils have respond to a question. Has anyone else found other ways where voting has enhanced the teaching and learning environment ?

Attached is another quiz based on Parliament and Elections!

Hi

Although not using voting regularly in the classroom I did have an experience recently where I asked a question where there was no correct answer, but it was either yes or no in terms of the choice of answers.

I pasted the results showing who answered what on the page.

The children then had a discussion with their talk partners..... based on the question.

We voted again and then compared these results with the first ones.

Some children had been able to convince their partner that their original reason for answering yes/no had not been as strong as theirs.

Again more discussion material!

I agree. I didn't realize that my system was not complete until I recently obtained a set of ActivVotes and I was able to use them to monitor my students progress throughout the lesson. Great tool that enhances my students learning and my teaching skills.
