You might have noticed a new package called activaid in our repositories.
This is a program used to help when you contact our support staff.
It is fairly easy to understand ( but I would say so, my colleague David Chan and I wrote it ! ). The purpose of the program is to provide us with information about your system, and also to execute some common tasks without having to type complex terminal commands.
Once installed, you can find it in the System Tools menu, or press ALT F2 and type activaid
All the information contained on the screen can be saved to file using the Diagnostic button. It creates a file called activaid.tar.gz in your home directory, which you can send us if requested by our staff (Tip : you may need to resize the window to see the diagnostic button ...)
