This was the problem in Beta as well. Now with the live version, I thought they might have found a fix, but this software still crashes upon launching. It's fine on the Macbook and on a Desktop Intel Mac but there must be something about the Pro that gets in the way. I had my much more tech savvy Educational Technology Specialist colleagues try it as well and it crashed on their Macbook Pro laptops as well.

Works fine on my Macbook Pro, using it right now. Is everything up to date, flash player, etc????

Use the uninstall utility that came with the beta version to uninstall and then try it. I did that before I installed.

I called tech support and they ran me through the uninstall and reinstall and didn't have any suggestions after that. I know others on this board had this problem but I never found the solution.

Hello there,

Apologies for the Mac problem. Please rest assured that we are on to it and are working as hard as we can to sort this out. It is frustrating because there hasn't been an obvious pattern to the issue and it is occurring in only a very few machines, but we have made a lot of progress in the last 24 hours so are hopefully much much nearer to a solution.

Please feel free to PM me with further details and if you want to talk directly about this - we're very keen to obtain any further possible details and to help as you as much as possible.

Many thanks for your patience

God morning Mary and all,

I am the first person in my school to download this software, and am going to help others with it but every single time I open it, it crashes like a flight into the Hudson.

Sometimes I can see all tools etc on the desktop, and sometimes the mac cursor just does the rainbow spin.

I'm running an as up-to-date macbook pro as I possibly can. Activstudio 3 was fine.

There are approximately 30 Activboards in my school, with most on macbook pros, some on that other crap os.

Attached is the error message sent to Apple twice.

Backwards compatibility and no shortcuts sucks. Can the buttons be reassigned?

Tim

They have assured us that they will fix the shortcuts. ;) I'm running ActivInspire on a Mac with no crashing so far. :p

I am using the Macbook Pro and experiencing these same problems. I train teachers on the use of this software and was not even able to get the Beta version to work. It worked one time and then began crashing. My coworker has the exact same computer with the same OS and Activstudio and Activprimary loaded and hers works. Please find a solution soon.

I have a MACbook PRO and Inspire runs beautifully - which is nice - but does not help :(

Same issue here. I've reinstalled my mac about 3 times, and it runs fine for about a week, then crashes upon startup (I do see the splash screen, and sometimes, the main screen) but never get to a point where I can click on any of the tools in the toolbox.

Mac Pro users, you're not alone out there!
