Help with Inspire

[clap]I'm so excited that the new software is finally available. However, I'm having a few difficulties getting started. For one, I'm having trouble editing shape points. I went to customize and added it to the marquee handles toolbox, but it doesn't show up. Therefore, I am unable to resize images. Furthermore, I am having trouble opening flipcharts made in activstudio. When I do so, I lose some of my text. Also, I'm curious as to how to have inspire recognize previously made questions from activstudio. Thanks for your help! I'm so excited to get started with this new version and explore all that it has to offer.????

the edit shape points option will only show when you have a shape selected & won't do anything with images

As for your problem flipcharts - can you upload a flipchart you're having problem with text & also one of your voting flipcharts that are causing you problems & I'll take a look for you.

Here is the attached flipchart. As you can see, I'm missing my question text on several of the pages. Also, I have a calendar like this for every month with my daily focus questions. I've preset the questions to show the right answer. Will this still show up in inspire? In studio, it was very easy to do this with pre-made questions because I only had to go to the activote session and then select the correct response. Is there something like this in inspire for vote and expression sessions?

There are a couple of issues here which I will get raised.
I do have a workaround for both your problems but unfortunately they are a bit of a pain if you have to do it on a lot of flipcharts

- text not appearing
the text that isn't displaying is on the top layer, if you put it on the middle layer it will display fine in inspire

- not picking up the voting data
if you edit the question in v3 & give the answers labels then it picks up the question fine in inspire. Unfortunately you can't edit it in inspire as the question wizard isn't picking it up as a question either. Otherwise you'd be able to go to edit/question on current page & do it from there.

Yes, I am running on a mac. I tried your suggestion about bringing it to the middle layer, but I don't see the text box at all. The only thing that I see is the white box that the text was on. I moved that to the middle layer, but it didn't work. Also, could you explain what you mean by giving the answers labels.

yes, you need to do the moving & adding labels in v3 & not inspire
when you right click on the page & go to vote settings you can give each option a label. I added the letters a - d on the page & set them as labels & then opened it in inspire & the voting question was picked up.

O.K I see what you're saying now. I did get the text to work, and it's recognizing my questions now!!! :DHURRAY!![clap]
I still have a few questions though:
After it recognizes my question and answers, it's turning some of my text red. I can turn it black, but it goes back to red again. What would be a reason for that?
Also, will it recognize the questions and answers with votes and expressions? It shows the correct answer when we use the votes, [clap]but not the expressions. Is there a way to get it to show up when we use both?

I really want to use the inspire software, but I still want to be able to use all of the flipcharts that I worked so hard on making. I feel like I'm one step closer to that now. Thank you so much for your help.

ok, I'll just answer this part for now!

sounds like you've got it set to highlight misspelt words. If you go into your settings & go to spellchecker. The first option is to highlight misspelled words, take the check out of this.

OK that makes sense. What about the expressions picking up the questions?

tried with the flipchart already on this post & couldn't recreate.
Can you post up another one that you're definately having a problem with & I'll use that one.
