Hi

I'm having a problem with the allocation of devices to an original activote system.

When it gets to the enter pin stage the letters are displayed for the pupis but there is no additional instruction as to what to do. Following the old steps of hold down orange button, wait for both lights, enter code, no longer works. The hub stays on the middle light it does not do its disco thing. When you hold the orange button only the red light appears.

The devices are registered and vote in anon mode.
The batteries are fresh.
I have the old hub version selected not expression.

Any suggestions ??

cheers

Tim

I've not got any devices with me but I think you just need to miss out pressing the register button as I'm sure I made that mistake as well the first time I looked at it.
Someone will quickly jump in & tell me if I'm wrong!!

You are right Louise, go straight into pressing the first letter.

Thanks for your quick replies,

However, I'd tried keying in the letters without an orange button push and it had not worked. I've just re-booted and tried again and still no joy.

Unlike anon voting or device registration the hub sits there passive. The only light showing is the white one in the centre. Is this normal, I'm sure in V3 it flashed during the cycle.

I tried to allocate them again via the voting browser menu instead of the Express Poll wheel, this time the light flashed and the devices registered. It worked in the same way as before in V3 organge button hold and then the letters.

To check I tried it again from the express poll wheel and now that is working too. So not sure what the glitch was but it somehow has righted itself.

Strange, but for once a good strange.

Sorry for confusing you! I have re-read your post and you did say you were using the original votes, in which case you do need to press the centre button before entering the PIN. Glad it is sorted now.
