Can anyone tell me what is a good webcam and microphone to purchase so I can connect with others through Elluminate? I want to get what I need so my students can see the other class. Is a regular computer mic going to work? Will the students on the other end be able to hear everyone, or do individual students speak at a time? I'd appreciate any help with this. I hope to try this out soon. Thank you!

Kelly,
I too am looking for the ideal (and low cost) video camera and microphone - Did you find any information or make any decisions since your last post?

Get a MacBook or MacBook Pro, camera built right in! :)
Honestly, I have used Logitech and they seem to have a good number of options at a good price.

If I'm not mistaken, most webcams have built-in microphones. I agree with Scott, Logitech makes a pretty good webcam.

I like the LogiTech Orbital Webcam. It is reliable and has options for avatars. My kids record math word problems which can be embedded into a flipchart. So in addition to collaboration benefits, you get a new classroom tool to enhance instruction.
