Unless I just don't get it, it seems like in order to switch from one group of students to another, you have to reallocate the devices, which is a pain and totally unacceptable. It has forced us to use generic Student 01, Student 02, Student 03, etc., instead of using real students' names.

The tutorials no longer exist on Prometheanworld. If you go to www.prometheanlearning.com and register, basic activote tutorials are inlcuded in the free Foundation course.

I am having problems registering devices. When I try to register them and select the 'country" it tells me my hardware and software combination is not permitted for this country. I have installed updates for the software and drivers....I have a connection with the pen and board, I have restarted the board and I continually get this message. It is happening on a number of my boards...any help?

Have you unplugged the board from the power supply and then restarted Activstudio? That worked for me today.

which country are you trying to select & which locale is being used on the pc?
Also, if you look in the language settings in the main settings is this set to use the locale/language on the pc or is it set to another language?

the language settings are set to use the same lang. as the comp. which is English....US. I have unplugge the board and restarted my computer as well. I am having this problem with a number of boards at my school and now I understand the frustration of the teachers :).

& which country are you selecting when trying to register?
You've already said that the pen is working correctly so the board must be connected ok.
Also, which country are you actually physically in?

Hi bollingberg,
This happened to me too. It was a driver problem. I had to uninstall the driver and reinstall the latest one again. I spoke to tech support and they talked me through it. I was in full panic mode, as Promethean were bringing a dozen American visitors round to watch the lesson and nothing was working! It was pretty quick to fix. +wave+

Hopefully, since you have done it this one time, this problem will not happen again! Please keep us all posted if it does, because this really should fix the problem from now on!

I was interested in viewing this tutorial and checked through both the Windows and Mac free foundation courses but didn't find anything on AVotes. Am I looking in the wrong place?

The ActiVote tutorials are part of the $50 Level 1 course, not the free one... Oops!
