Probably a really silly question but I can't work out how to delete flipcharts. (We have just had a IWB installed but the school can't afford any training at the moment so we are learning as we go along at the moment) Also our pen needs recalibrating but we don't appear to have the little grey mark in the bottom corner that the other class which has the same board has. Any suggestions would be very gratefully received! ????

Hi Eleanor

This is what I do when I need to delete a flipchart - it may not be the only, the easiest or the most logical but it works!! :D You will need to use Windows Explorer or other file management software to find the location of the ACTIVprimary flipcharts folders (this location depends on your operating system) being typically:

Win 95/98 Me –

C:\Windows\All Users\Documents\ACTIV Software\ACTIVprimary\Flipcharts

Win 2000 NT XP –

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\ACTIV Software\ACTIVprimary\Flipcharts

Once you're there you locate the flipchart you want to delete and then right click on it and choose delete - and then hopefully it's gone!

A really easy way to 'train yourselves' is to use the Help option accessible from the AP flipchart page (Promethean man, .... icon, Help) - it has most answers. There is also a flipchart that comes with the software called Introduction that may be useful - (Promethean man, Open flipchart, Click on flipchart folder, Introduction). The video gallery that is mentioned earlier in this forum has some very useful stuff too.

I'm not sure about calibrating the pen as I've only had to do it once and that was a while ago and I can't really remember what I did other than clicking on some crosses - sorry - someone else will come to your rescue I'm sure.

Hope this helps

Thanks Sarah, what a fantastically brilliant response to the flipchart location...[clap]

As far as callibrating goes

Down in the bottom right hand corner of your screen you will see the "AV" icon if you right click on there (either on your laptop/pc or with the pen - but this can be tricky if your callibration is really out) anyway right click on the icon and one of the options will be callibration. Choose that option and follow the on screen instructions.

This should sort you!!

Let me know if not +wave+

Thank you very much for that Sarah- I can now 'tidy up' our flipcharts. I will have a go at the recalibration tomorrow following Margaret's instructions but I don't think we have the AV icon in the corner. Will have to have a good look!
