Does anyone have a suggestion? After months of successful use of flipcharts, suddenly the actions no longer work. None. And yes, I know to switch to performance mode. Is there anything in preferences or elsewhere that would disable actions? Help!

Did actions get turned off accidentally? There is a small curved arrow on the screen. If it has an arrow thru it (on PC), it's off. Is that what the Mac actions button looks like, too?

They might have gotten turned off accidentally. If so, how do I purposefully turn them back on?
(I do get the arrow with the line thru it you mentioned.)

Just click on it again and it should turn on.

What is "it"? I've tried everything I can think of and nothing works. I was wondering if there was a way to disable actions as there is on activstudio and I inadvertently did this. No actions work on any flipcharts. I will click on "it" if you tell me what "it" is! Thank you....

The arrow you can see that has the line through it. Click on it and the line should disappear and the actions will work again.

Thank you. This doesn't work, however. The arrow w/ the line through it is present on only one page, and since it is the cursor, it doesn't lend itself to being clicked on. Anyone else with another suggestion?

Can you confirm which product you are using? I assume it is Activprimary for Mac, right? (As the question was posted in this section) If so, I can try to see what's what on my Mac.

I am using Activprimary for Mac. It is version 3.6
I had a training for Activstudio and in that program there is a place at the bottom of the screen where you can enable and disable actions. I was wondering if there was such a thing on Primary that I inadvertently clicked on. I am really frustrated that I can't enable my actions!

Just want to confirm you are NOT in Design mode. I have attached a screenshot of the icon that would be showing IF you are in design mode. Is the icon above the sound icon hollow or filled? If it is hollow like in the screenshot, you are in design mode and need to switch to presentation mode.

I am not in the design mode when I try to use my actions.
I create my flip charts in design mode, then switch to presentation to present them. If I want to test an action, I go into presentation mode. If an action does not work, that is always the first thing I check...am I in design mode? For this problem I am most assuredly in presentation mode. I know what it looks like!
I even quit the program, restarted it, deliberately went to presentation mode, and, nothing. I even shut down the whole computer, let it rest over night, restarted it, and tried a whole different flipchart. In the presentation mode, of which I am quite cognizant, the actions did not work.

Hmmm. I cannot see why this is happening for you. Do you also have Activstudio? Does the flipchart work correctly when you open it in Activstudio?

You may have to report this to tech support as I cannot see why this is happening.

All of the actions do work just fine when I opened the flipchart in Studio! Curiouser and curiouser!
I want to thank you for responding to my problem, and I'm sorry there is no easy solution. Maybe primary got corrupted somehow....

I tried starting a brand new flipchart in Primary, put a simple action in it (button/ go to the next page type of thing), and it did not work when tested (in presentation mode)

I will try tech support as you suggested. thanks!

Could you upload one of your flipcharts so that I can see if actions work on my copy of AP?

I've shared my latest flipcharts with co-workers and they have worked just fine with their AP. I have downloaded two flipcharts from Promethean planet with actions, just to check to see if they'd work and the actions do not work for me. That's what makes me wonder if there is a way to disable actions on AP and I accidentally did it with my copy.

On the Mac, the button to turn Actions on/off is a blue arrow (tiny pic attached! the icon appears in the top left hand corner when you open the attachment)

If you can't see this button on your screen, then you would need to get it from the Toolstore and drag it onto your toolbar or toolstrip. It will toggle actions on and off.

Not sure if this is the problem, but worth a try...

Rosie, I didn't know Activprimary had a toolstore. I thought that was a studio deal. How can I access the toolstore from primary?

Oops - my mistake. I thought the toolstore was in primary too, but as far as I can see in my Windows version, you are right. It's studio only. Sorry!

Well, I'm stumped. You could try resetting your preferences. (I don't think that would help but it would be quick to try.) You could de-install and reinstall the software. You likely should call tell support.

Guess what? Guess what? Guess what! Resetting the preferences fixed everything! (I still don't know what caused the actions to disable, but hey, they work now! thank you mucho and mas!
