I have created a basic flipchart page about sorting shapes and names. Is there anyway in which, when the children move the name to the correct shape I can attach a sound? Or can you only use sounds by clicking on an image/text?

Hi

If you mean when they move it into the right box they get a cheer or something like that..... no you can't.... but how about this as a workaround.;)

This may take some describing..... so you may well have to play and see.....

If you have two recepticles which are on the middle layer and bottom layer. One of them will receive all the "squares."

Add some assorted shapes

Make all the squares middle layer - if you put the square in the wrong recepticle then it will show on top. If you put it "in" the right one it is hidden behind!

Hope that makes sense....+wave+

That's a very cool idea! Does anyone know if it's possible to add a sound to an image and still allow the image to be movable? I'm putting together a flipchart where I want my students to move a spaceship to different answers. I thought it would be slick if I could have the program play a "spaceship" sound whenever the spaceship moved, but as soon as I attach the sound, I can move the object any more. Any thoughts???

If you have a copy of developer edition it can be done. At the moment it is not possible to do this in AP. However, if you want to post the flipchart here and explain what you want to happen in page notes, I will have a go at making the final part for you. +wave+

Lou,

That is so nice of you. I hate for you to bother, but I would be curious to see it work. On the flipchart page, there is a spaceship and a sound file above it. I'd like to hide the sound file and have it play whenever the spaceship is clicked on and moved. If you'd like to get a better idea of what the students would do with this, take a peak at the page notes. Thanks a Ton!!!

Hi Tony

This is a sort of work around. I have had to use another sound because I couldn't embed yours, but if I tell you what I did, you can re-create your own verson.

In design mode, I used duplicate to create a second spaceship and embedded the sound file. I then made the spaceship very small and placed it in the centre of the larger ship (you will see it if you look hard.) I then grouped them together - so ... there's a group containing little spaceship with embedded sound file and bigger spaceship. You could, of course, use the transparent slider to make the second spaceship invisible. (You would need to ungroup first)

Return to presentation mode. Clicking on the little spaceship starts the sound, clicking on the big spaceship enables movement.

Have fun. +wave+

Thanks Sharon! This is a good option. It gives the page that little extra "punch" I was looking for. I really like the spaceship wav file you selected. When I complete the whole flipchart I'll be sure to post it.

Hi Mr B

Sorry it has taken so long to respond. I have been fiddling with it all day and I think Sharon's idea is the best way around it, I thought there was another way round it but I think I must have been on planet Lou at that time!

I have uploaded the flipchart again as I have put an astronaut on the spaceship and he contains the sound so they can still play the sound by clicking on him as they set off then grab any part of the spaceship to move it.

Sorry!
