I am a social studies teacher, but have become my school's unofficial promethean guru. Does anyone know of a graphing calculator resource for promethean? Or a website I could go show my fellow teachers? Thanks immensely.

TI has a graphing calculator application called the TI Smartview. It emulates the TI-83 and TI-84 that most students seem to need and use in high schools. You have to buy it from Texas Instruments but most math teachers prefer it to any other one that I've found. It works very well with an Activboard.

You can find more info about it here:

Here's one written by another Promethean user: http://www.timschmitz.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/calc.exe

Good luck with the Guru role. If you need any help, just ask.

I just signed up for the TI on a couple of days ago and it let me have a year for free. I got there through a link of some new Prentice-Hall books we are previewing.

How did you get it for free?

Our school is looking at buying the new Prentice Hall version. I had a packet and within it there was a link and from there I got it for a year free. I will be going in Monday to see if I can find it again.
