Virtual Slide Rule

I will shortly be teaching the topic of logarithms. A great hands-on example of some of the log laws is a slide rule, so I grabbed some images from the web and made a virtual slide rule on a flipchart (attached) .

That is terrific [clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap] I also teach logs, so I'm a little curious to know how you plan to incorporate it into your lesson. Would you mind sharing that as well?

Thanks, Rex, for the slide rule. I was having "slide rule" withdrawal for the past 40 years! When I was in college we did not have calculators. I used both the long "slip stick" and the circular one. Oh what fun the slide rule is! I can't wait to show my 5th graders the precursor of the hand held calculator.

Here are the first few pages of the flipchart that I will be using to introduce logarithms. Some of the pages are from a textbook, but I am one of the authors so it is ok for me (and you) to reproduce them.
