I'm always looking for ways that an Activboard improves teaching in the classroom. I recently read an article about strategies for teaching rotational symmetry and the order of rotational symmetry that shapes posses. Traditionally done using tracing paper and a compass point to secure the centre of rotation, I thought that teachers could model this using Activstudio. Hence this flipchart submitted on Planet: http://www.prometheanplanet.com/uk/server/show/ConResource.13584

Please note, the flipchart illustrates the technique and may need tweaking for "Mathematical correctness" ;)

Pete again great flip!! I do use activstudio to look at rotational symmetry, but the best is translations, flips and rotating around an access point. These all fall under the same concepts and quite often get overlooked because they can be taught with tracing paper and a compass, but I must say it becomes a whole lot more meaningful when it is taught on the activboard with the activsoftware. :p
