I am a Chemistry teacher. In Activstudio 1 I had lots of annotations on the side toolbar - test tubes, bunsen burners etc. How can I do this in AS 2? I have looked at Toolbox customise but no luck  I know it must be possible because there was a resourse already on the tool bar - a map of the UK

Help anyone! graemlins/icon_biggrin.gif

Can I use the annotaions from AS 1? If so how?

Thanks in anticipation :D

If you open up the resources (the pile of books beneath "next and previous page arrows".

Down the left hand side of that window you will see a variety of icons. Eighth one down is shared annotations. It looks like a squiggly blue line. Make sure you are in Shared Annotations.

And then, once you've added your annotation to the page you can add them to the shortcut bar.

You do this by dragging the annotation from the page onto the toolbar and then it is there ready to access quickly in the future.

The annotations from AS1 can be upgraded to AS2 in the forthcoming AS2 Developer version.

If you cannot wait, you can add the AS1 annotations to a flipchart using AS1, then open the flipchart in AS2 and drag them into the AS2 resource library or onto the AS2 shortcut bar.

the only trouble is that the thumbnail does not always map correctly. I have some family tree sections and the line basically maps round the edge of the button so you can't see it.

Not sure I entirely understand what you mean

BUT it maybe that the images you are saving need to have the transparency property unchecked.

Double click on the image,
click on the tick (object properties)
Go to Appearance and uncheck the box.

Not sure if this is what you mean?
