Hi Paddy
We've put the circles, triangles etc. (i.e. the annotation library that used to appear on the right hand side of the AS1 toolkit) into the resource library - seemed to make more sense for them to be with all the other resources. How do you get them?? Well..

If you are in flipchart mode click on the 'resource library' icon (pile of books) at bottom of page navigation tool strip.
The library opens - make sure you have shared resources selected ('pair of heads' icon in top row)
Now select 'shared annotations' icon (sqiggly line) and voila - the old annotations from AS1 (if the folders of different ones don't appear click the 'sideways arrow head' next to the 'close' cross on the library
Also there is a shared shapes library ('circle, triangle, square icon') which has solid shapes. The rectangle can be very useful for putting a moveable resizable mask over objects/labels etc on a flipchart page.

And....
If you look at the bottom of the resource library you can either select 'drag and drop' for just dragging the annotation/shape etc from the library onto the page -
or...
'grow object' which allows you to select annotation/shape in the library and then click on the f/c at any point and drag out the annotation to any size (as in AS1)

Hope this helps

Hi
I was getting frustrated by this too! As well as the shapes mentioned, if you right click the pen tool on the main toolbar, visible when you are using a flipchart, then you get a popup menu which has square, circle, point to point line etc.
If you are desparate (I don't think all the shapes translated to their new home very well) then you can make a flipchart in ver 1.*.* with your favourite shapes. Save it, open it in ver 2 and then use the select tool to select and move it straight onto the edge of the toolbar.

Shapes can be dragged from a flipchart to the Toolbox Shortcut Bar (third column).
So you could add a shape from the Resource Library onto a flipchart page, then transfer it to the toolbox.
In fact any object (or group of objects) can be dragged from the flipchart and dropped on the Toolbox Shortcut Bar

That's the beauty of AS2 you can customise your toolbars exactly as you want them. The power tools toolbar, the main toolbar including the shortcuts area, and the quick select toolbar mean that you can have your favourites wherever you want them.

Have fun
