You can't! Activstudio is only available when you buy one of our boards.

My district has purchased Activstudio, and I needed to upgrade to the latest version for my iMac. Where could I do that?

Hi debbie,
Welcome to the forum.
First install the CD that came with your board on your Mac.
The launch the application.
If you have version 3 installed, then you will see a dashboard with a "support" tab.
There will be a option for you to check for upgrades.
If you are connected to the internet, then it will match your version and then download the latest upgrade patch for you.

It depend on where are you and the 50" AB had just EOL. You can only buy the existing stock. :)

:confused: It seems it would make better sense to offer the software for free like SMART board does. If I get used to using YOUR software, then I would want to purchase YOUR board when the school makes a new purchase. I am just a teacher and cannot afford to purchase it on my own.

I want to modify a flipchart to make it fit MY classroom and am unable to do so. I find this frustrating.

I just need to say that the software licensing is actually more restrictive for SMART. You are only allowed to use SMART software if you or your school has SMART hardware.

Similarly Promethean software is available to you for 'unlimited preparation' use if you have Promethean hardware and that agreement is highlighted in the licence.

You can use the code on the CD supplied to your school to download the full version of the software or use the CD supplied with the board to install at home. In addition to that, in some markets, such as the UK, Promethean very successfully sells Activ software to SMART and other IWB users and Promethean has special licenses for that situation.

SMART specifically state that use of their software with other makes of Interactive Whiteboard is forbidden.

Just because SMART let you download it seemingly 'for free' does not mean it actually is - and I strongly suspect that their lawyers would agree.

You do not state if you have Promethean equipment at your school. If you do then you can get the software for preparing your lessons by free download.
