Words within words

Here's a simple idea for a starter or plenary. Put a large word on the board and the children have to make small words from the lertters. An old idea but one that comes to life on the board with the drag and drop facility.

Just a variation of Kims Game using the blind. There's a blank at the back to make your own if you want.

I love your making words flipchart. What is the little icon that pops up when I move letters and how did you make this?

Hi

This is a "drag a copy" in Activprimary/Activstudio you need to be in design mode and then right click on the item you want to duplicate. When you go out of design mode and then click on the object you will see "the little icon" and this will now allow you to "drag a copy".

Hi Simon,
Kims game is a memory game where you show all items, player hides their eyes, take one away and the player has to guess which one is missing. This chart can also be used to remember as many as possible of the objects once they are hidden by the blind.

Can you please explain the "drag and drop" feature again? I tried it and couldn't get it to work.

It is only available on AP3. Go into design mode (promethean man and then the other promethean man (second one in) select so that he turns red. Right click on the object you want to drag infinite copies of and you will see a menu pop up. The last option is "drag a copy". Just select that and it should work!!
