Don't think that just because you have an IWB that you have to use it all the time!

Good teaching is about using all of the resources around you. Mix up the activities and resources you're using.

A lot of tutors I've dealt with have gotten the impression that they are being asked to use their board all the time.

It's a great enhancement. Make good use of the resources you've been given but, for god's sake, don't use one resource over and over!

My two cents +wave+

I agree, it is just another tool.... however there are different ways in which the board can be utilised.

Whole Class
Small groups
Individuals
Pairs
Teacher/adult led group work as well as independent use
Having activities that are on-going or as is said in Early years - continuous provision for children to "have a go" with.
Having teasers/engaging activities when students first walk into a room

Using it as a 'center' was discussed here:http://www.prometheanplanet.com/common/html/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=2807&highlight=center

True, you may not use the board in a particular activity, but even having it on with a picture that enhances the activity that you are doing away from the board, adds something to the environment/discussion. Multiple modalities help kids learn and help provide a reference point!

My 2 cents!!
