Can anyone tell me how to make an object link to another hidden object? For example I am making a flipchart where I want a number to pop up when I clickk on a lilypad. Thanks!

Here's one way:

Put the number and the lillypad on the page.
1. Double-click on the lillypad. (the Object Edit toolbox appears)
2. Select the Properties icon from the Object Edit toolbox. (this opens the properties and Actions box)

In the Properties and Actions box:
3. Select Actions
4. Click on Object
5. Click on the drop down arrow and select Show. (see image)
6. Click on the Set button. A ‘Select an Object’ box appears. Select the number here.

You’ve set the action, now you just need to make the number invisible.
7. With the Properties and actions box still open, click on the number.
8. Select Appearance in the Properties and Actions box.
9. Untick the “visible” box to make it invisible.

Now, in Presentation Mode, the action should make the number visible.

Hope that makes sense!

Firstly you need version 3.
Your lily pad and your frog need to be objects on the page

Double click on the lily pad and choose Properties
Click Actions
Click the Object Radio button
Click Show from the dropdown
Click set and choose the Frog from the drop down
[No need to click OK at this point because we want to look at the properties of the frog]
Click on the Frog
Click the Appearance option
Untick the Visible box
Click OK
Save your flipchart and then try it out
You might want to experiment with bring to front/send to back or show/hide as well

I gave it a try, but the only option I am able to select is "all." The other ones are pale gray and it will not allow me to select them.

I am having trouble following those directions. When I click on properties. I don't have the option to select anything but "all". Anything else says I can only select those in the developer edition.

Hi,

If only "all" is selectable, my guess is that you are still working in version 2.5 or earlier of the software. If you still have the little Promethean Man at the top left of your toolbar, then you don't have version 3.

You can do what Simon and Peter are explaining when you upgrade to 3.0!

Yes, you'll sounds like you have version 2.5 (or earlier!) of the software. Click here (http://www.prometheanworld.com/uk/server/show/nav.597)to go to a page where you can upgrade the software...
(ps NOTE: this is for UK users only)

How do you know which mode is on? Design or presentation?

Hi. Assuming you have V3:

In Activprimary –

you’re in Design Mode when the square outline around Promethean Man is red;
you’re in Presentation Mode when the outline is yellow;
click on him, them on his twin in the disc two icons to the left, to change from one mode to the other.
In Activstudio –
· click on the Main Menu icon
· Design Mode is the first option in the drop down menu
· it will have a tick against it when you’re in design mode, & the icon will be filled orange
· and you’ll have a tool bar along the top left of your screen.

Alternatively, in both AP & AS, the F2 button will toggle between the two modes!

I would love to see the lily pad and hidden number when you get it made! Thanks so much! I love it when I find a new idea and everyone explains so well how to do it!
thanks!
