I know before I had my Promethean board and Activ software, it was often difficult to give students an exact copy of the days notes (because of them being absent or required by their IEP). With the use of the program, I am easily able to print off the notes for students.

This is a great asset for one of my students who has a disability which effects his notetaking ability. Further, his aid can assist him in more beneficial ways, rather than just copying notes. (The ActivSlate is also a great tool I use with this student because he is in a wheelchair. I am sure the ActivWand would also be useful students who may have trouble reaching the board for any reason.)

I also print off the days lesson and keep a paper record of what I did each day. Therefore, when students are absent they can just come to my room during homeroom period and copy the notes.

(I choose to print three FC pages per 1 sheet of paper to minimize ink and paper usage. I also print at the end of the lesson to make sure I get all of the annotations my students or I have written that day.)

PS. In actually I guess there is more than one tip here.

Thanks brianksee,

Like this tip - really makes the most of the technology.

Also, if you save the flipchart with your students' annotations, you can use it for revision later in the year...

Those are great points. Is is so hard sometimes to comply with the IEP's! Being able to print the work without having to "re-do" it is such a great timesaver!

How can you print more than one flipchart page on a sheet of paper right now I have been converting to powerpoint just to print. I must be missing something very simple can someone shine some light on me :)

Under Layout in the Print dialogue box there's a Column Count and Row Count box. Just set the numbers to the number of flipchart pages you want across the page and the number down.
