New In version 3 of AS - there is an option for Windows Mode... Menu > Customise > Flipchart Style >

Selecting Windows mode gives you access to standard functions of MS Windows such as Tiling programs.

For example you may have a word document or concept mapping program running at the same time as AS.

If you right click a clear space on the Windows taskbar where the names of the programs are - you will have an option to Tile Windows...

This makes any programs that are running organise themselves automatically on screen - so you can drag and drop content from one to the other...

AP is designed to not offer a Windows Mode so that the options it provides do not distract younger pupils who may be using the SW unattended.

The desktop can be reached of course by using the desktop icon.

See the other 100 tips thread about the Web Browser - you can drag and drop from that in AP - and it will stay on top.

It is in the Promethean Man Menu - and looks like a globe.

Hi Mark,
In my experience of children using the software unattended, they find ways and means of doing almost anything anyway! My Yr 1 children (5&6yrs old) often run AP2.5 and 3 at the same time, so that can be working on two flipcharts at once. They are quite happy to go into desktop mode and use a range of programs with AP running at the same time. I would love AP to continue developing so that it has the same functionality as AS!
