use of the container

My children particularly enjoy dragging words and seeing if they will be contained or returned! For example , we have been looking at improving vocabulary in written work. Children will look at synonyms for adjectives or verbs. They look at finding and using appropriate synonyms in context. They look at an image with a collection of words, they have beside them a dictionary to look up word meanings. They then make a decision as to whether individual words are synonyms. This also lends itself to use and understanding of prefixes to aid comprehension. Add a sound and the children are really engaged!![clap]

I am a newbie to Promethean but quite addicted!
PLEASE tell me how you made that wonderful synonym activity with the lioness and the synonyms or please point me to more info about doing this. Love how the word will not say on the lioness if it is incorrect!

Hi Cindy, sorry for my lack of reply! Am currently on holiday and didn't check in as much as I would have liked to:) . Glad you liked the chart, I am also a newbie and an addict!!!! I love finding out new functions and trying to copy ideas. I think that's what is fab about this site loads of sharing going on. I have just learned how to use the tickertape and can't wait to get back to see how it works in class.

I love that this is being used for a real purpose (like the idea of the children using dictionaries themselves rather than it just being a guessing activity).

I agree with you when you say how adding a sound helps engage the children. I've seen how much a simple sound added to an image works well with a Y10 french class!!

Hi Laura, thanks , glad you like it. I have only just got V3 and was really jealous when I saw the wonderful flips others had created much earlier. I couldn't wait to try this out as soon as I had V3!!! I have done a few of these flips and am going to upload the others in the resource section.
