Hi

We are in the process of installing AP V3 on all our teachers laptops at school and whilst that process is relatively simple, we are quite fond of our 2.5 shared resource library collections (me particularly! ).

I have downloaded the AP Classic Collection resource pack but still prefer the earlier version of resources that I have so I will be moving my original set of resources over into my shared V3 resource library over the Easter holidays - that's why teachers have such long holidays see!?

I have also downloaded most of the resource packs available through Planet and added those to my shared V3 library and re-indexed everything. Now my question is ........ is it possible to copy 'my' contents of my own created V3 resource library and put that onto the other teachers laptops so that we all have the same resource library collections? Is it easier to copy my shared resource library rather than download each of the resource packs and then copy the other bits that I have mentioned? Do you still need to re-index when you copy folders over into the resource libraries?

Hope that makes sense!!!

Thanks

I think that if you open up your resource manager from your dashboard you can export collections to resource pack. I am taking that to mean that it will create a file on your computer similar to the collection files that we can download off of promethean planet. When you chose the export option it asks where you want to store you .as3a file.

I would think you then put these on the other teachers computer and open them up!!

I have just exported a small resource pack successfully [clap] :D from 'my collections' folder on my PC and imported it into 'my collections' on my laptop - so I guess as you say I could create the resource library I want in the 'shared collections' area on my PC and the export it to be able to import it on other staff machines. It's slowly making sense!!!

Thanks

Yes. Take your complete shared folder structure. Burn it to CD or copy it to the network. Then copy the whole thing onto your other teachers laptops in the Activprimary Shared resource library location:

c:\documents and settings\all users\shared documents\activ software\activprimary3

NB the folder structure also contains the index file so you won't need to re-index it on the other machines.
