Hi everyone,

I've recently seen a flipchart with a memory game. How is it done? I mean, how do I configure the flipchart to "turn the cards" back and forward?

Thanks for the help!

Hi Bob,

You will need version 3 in order to be able to do this. If you already have it then I have found the best way to work it out is to investigate the flipchart you have already seen, in design mode under properties look at the object actions.

I have attached a flipchart that uses this concept.

Hi Bob,+wave+

I made one of these about a month ago.

There are a couple of different ways of doing it, one way is to set an action on the top card, so that when you click on it, it will go to the back. Then you set an action on the bottom card so that when you click on that, it brings the orginal top card back to the top! As LouB says, the easiest way is to have a look at someone else's flipchart in design mode.

Cheers

Hi Joe and Wendy,

Thanks a whole bunch for the hints! I've been using ACTIVstudio PE version 2.5, so I'll have to do the upgrade. Do you know if the fact that the software used at the school I work for is version 2.5 might pose any problems?

Thanks again for the help!

Bob

Your version 3 flipcharts should open ok in 2.5!

I am working in V3 at home and uploading flipcharts to our school system (still 2.5) without any problems.

Hi, I have just created a small memory game and have encountered a problem. I have copied the design of a previous flipchart and have 2 identical shapes on top of each other with a word in the middle layer. I can then lift off the top shape to reveal the word. However I then want it to flip back into place if it is not correctly matched. I have managed to set the first shape an action of going to the bottom once clicked but the bottom shape then won't return the original once clicked:eek:   It's driving me mad! I have clicked every set action going but all to no avail.
Please, if anyone has managed this please could they explain to me in simple, very newbie, terms!!!!?

Thanks Debs+wave+

Hi

Not sure if I totally understand...... BUT here goes - I think you may have made it more complicated by having three cards in each "pile". Just have two and then with each one you send it to the top... Hope that makes sense  +wave+

Hi Debs,
Could you attach your flipchart page? Not sure I understand what you mean...?

You've set us going on an office debate - who's presenting Countdown nowadays??? Help!:)

I thought it was that sports presenter bloke that grannies are all supposed to fancy.... but much to my surprise I saw it one afternoon a few weeks ago and it is now presented by Des O'Connor!! :D

Hi debs,+wave+

Had a play with this, and this is what I found:
- Make both your cards and text on the middle layer
- Use the edit menu to put the bottom card 'to back' and the top card 'to front'. The text should now sit on top of the bottom card.
- If you are making a few of these cards on a page, name each of them in the properties box or it's very easy to get confused!
- For the top card, the action is Object> Send to back. Set the object as the top card.
- The action for the bottom card is Object>Send to Front. This time, the action is set for the top card again.
I've attached a flipchart to show you what I mean. Good luck !:)
Cheers,
Wendy
