Just looking into some Mind Mapping software and i've just been told that Spark Space is available as part of Activestudio2. Anyone know how I can access it / install it? I can't see anything in the menus etc on my installation. Have 2.5.101 installed on my XP Workstation. Anyone any ideas where I might find it? Or is it a seperate install?
Cheers
Johnny

Hi there,
Sorry to say but our agreement with Spark Space came to an end two years ago, so we no longer offer it as a freebie. Not to say it isn't a good program though, just that you may have to pay for it!
Inspiration or Kidspiration have both been optimised to work with Activ software because they use our handwriting recognition engine and have menus that can set up "stylus mode" for use on an interactive whiteboard.

I use both Inspiration and Kidspiration. I even called the company up about 5 years ago and asked if I could buy some stock in them. They just laughed!
Another program worth investigating is CMAP (http://cmap.ihmc.us/): The CmapTools client is free for use by anybody, whether its use is commercial or non-commercial. In particular, schools and universities are encouraged to download it and install it in as many computers as desired, and students and teachers may make copies of it and install it at home.

You might want to check out Inspiration's website:
http://inspiration.com/productinfo/supportingtechnology/index.cfm
When you see the links "Inspiration" and "Kidspiration" in the whiteboard section of that page, there are Quicktime movies showing how the software works on an interactive whiteboard. (Actually, they are using an Activboard. Please note that they are ALSO using Activstudio's handwriting recognition engine!) So on a PC, you can "write" words in Inspiration and have it turn into text. (But ONLY you have an Activboard and Activstudio- PC)
It's not a well known fact that this way to use Inspiration only works with Promethean technology! Spread the word!
