This is too cool!
When I go to the desktop view in Activprimary2 and open Microsoft One Note, resize the window, and go back to the flipchart, One Note is still visible on the screen.I can navigate One Note and drag and drop text and images onto the flipchart!

Yes, it is a little known fact that you may drag and drop virtually anything into the flipchart from MS Office applications (including One Note) and Internet Explorer.
BTW - One Note is an MS application designed for use on tablet PC's. However, it is a great note taking and file organisation tool.

Oops! I meant to add that when full screen in Activprimary you could alt-tab to bring windowed applications above the AP window.
The attached screenshot illustrates what I mean. I have dropped some text from One Note on to the AP flipchart

Thanks for reminding me about ALT + Tab. It's amazing how one often forgets the simple way of doing things.
Just shared with one of our teachers and we are both floored with the possibilities.

Went to another school to observe use of ICT today and learnt that very fact. Wrote down in my notes that it was sooo useful! Must remember to inform my staff of that one! [clap]

I always forget about using Alt+Tab. Thanks for the reminder!
Although this works great for text and pictures, this process doesn't seem to work with video files. Does anyone know whether you will be able to drag and drop video files (like .asf files) to flipchart pages in ActivPrimary version 3?
Thanks,
Lori

You wont be able to drag and drop .asf files to your flipcharts as this is a streaming video format and will only play through a web browser!
You could add a link to the specific video you want to watch from the flipchart which would then launch a web browser for you to view it in.
The Mac equivalent of Alt-Tab is Command-Tab (see attached image CommandTab.tiff

Vicky,
Thanks for the help! Would drag and drop work with a non-streaming video file, like a .mov file? (I can click on certain .mov files on my computer and they will play on my computer even if I am away from Internet or network access.)
Thanks!
Lori
I have always wondered if there was a way to bring windows forward while in AP! Brilliant!

Hi Lori
Non-streaming video files like .mov, .mpg and .avi can be embedded within flipcharts and although I haven't tried it, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to drag and drop them.
Have a go and let me know how you get on!

:( Just tried it myself and unfortunately haven't been able to do it. :(
Would be a good feature to request for the next version tho' ;)

Using Version 3.
I think its something to do with being able to drag and drop with MS applications and the video's compatible with Activprimary and Activstudio are QuickTime.
