Hey!
Anyone out there using a Sanyo Pro xtraX projector? If so, do you have trouble with the projector lamps blowing after a year? I am trying to figure out budgeting for ordering replacements. So far, I have 2 that have blown in a little over a year, and I was wondering if anyone else had this issue and if you ordered a better replacement for it.
I apologize for this not being directly related to the ActivBoard itself, but this is a critical issue for my school and budgeting and I need some help!
Thanks for any input!

I am not personally familiar with this particular model so I'm not sure of the specs or projected lamp life. You might want to take a look at the Sanyo web site and see if you can find the spec sheet on this model. It should have an estimate on the lamp life so that you can determine if you are actually getting the full life out of these lamps.
Most projectors require filter cleaning to keep the lamps from overheating and thus lasting. If they overheat they won't last as long. How often the filters need cleaning would vary greatly (depending on your school's enviornment--is it really dusty for example). Some schools have reported that they have to clean them once a week while others say they can get by with once a month.
Hope this helps.

Hi Marci,
I don't think the model number you list is actually the model number, so it may make tracking down the information you require a little challenging........
Model numbers can usually be found on the underside (although this may be the top if they are mounted in the roof :D ) on a white label.
An example is the XE31, so the model number will likely take that form.
Have a look and happy hunting, if you get stuck drop a post back here and we'll see if we can help.
best regards

You may also want to look at your settings. Mine has a setting that has less resolution and brightness, but allows the bulb to have a longer life.
It could also be that you need to reset the lamp hours. We had a huge problem with one of our projectors and kept changing the bulb and the same thing would keep happening. In the end the solution was to reset the lamp hours.
Before you ask how to do that , I will hold my hands up and say, I can't remember how to do it!
Sorry!
