iboard have made all their Christmas activities free.+wave+
There are loads more activities this year, bringing the total to nearly 20.
There are four topics: "Getting Ready for Xmas" is aimed at Reception. The
two maths ones (Shopping and Shape'n'Space) are Year 2. The literacy based
one is in Year 1.

Well spotted, Margaret! Thanks. Will share that with KS1 and Nursery on Monday, although having had a quick look I think Y3 and 4 (and even a fair few Y5 and 6!!) will enjoy some of them too!

:) These are wonderful - thanks Margaret!:)
This software looks really good. Is anyone subscribed to the online club? As far as I can work out, it would be about $30 for my class - that's for 40 activities at present? The site says they are committed to adding 40 a year so I guess they must have just started.
Cheers,
Wendy
I certainly thought it looked worth subscribing to - will be looking into it. Wonder if they'll be at BETT?
Just had a check and they're not listed currently, so probably not.

You can have a free 2 month trial so I may go along that route and see what their other resources are like - particuluarly for individual child use - although I think the activities are aimed at whiteboard use.
I thought I'd do the trial for us - but not till after Christmas! You can try a lot of the activities on the site with for evaluation plastered across them. Did you look at the Magic School stuff too?

I was thinking after Christmas too when I hope I may have a spare minute without trying to teach angels how to look angelic (I personally am finding that one hard! ) amongst other mad things!
The magic school stuff looks good for our Early Years - I think they'll like the fact that you can superimpose photographs of the children onto the characters faces. (Nicky if you're reading this, have a look!)

I have written to Steve at iboard and asked him to comment..... I worked with Steve a few years ago and saw this info on another site and thought it worth nudging!![clap]
Thanks for this site. It'll be one for my newsletter!
I have just spent some time looking at the other resources, what a fantastic site! I will recommend it to our ICT co-ordinator. The online club looks good - 50p per child per year is nothing in the grand scheme of things! [clap]

*groan* it is when you have over 700 kids and no budget! I hate per child things! Anyone who gets this, let us know if you think it's worth it and I'll beg the Head for something in our budget next year!
Alison - sorry I forgot to type the rest of it:
up to a maximum of £150 to cater for larger schools!
Has that made you smile again?

Hi,
I'm the author of the i-board activities. Margaret kindly invited me to post. Thanks for your positive comments - we are a small, teacher-led company (small company - not small teachers!) so it is encouraging to get noticed in a nice way.
A few answers:
*We are newish - we now have 150 activities (in around 40 topics) and are adding 40-50 activities (not topics) per year. If you have any ideas or requests for activities let me know.
*We are not at BETT as it's too expensive for us!!
*To the Australian teacher - there are local variations for au and nz (coins etc). Currently the subscription arrangment and pricing are different there but will be changing in the New Year.
*Although keeping with KS1 we are going to take the reception, yr1 and yr 2 tags off - this will make it more amenable for older children/SEN use. We will keep the colour differentiation.
*We hope pupils will get the chance to use the activities after a whiteboard introduction.
I think that's enough as I can get a bit boring on the subject - please e-mail us or take a trial - we don't then hassle for purchase like some companies.
Steve
Hi Steve,
Welcome to the forum, I spent some time looking at your resources at the weekend - they are really great and very useful. I am going to share them with our head tomorrow (fingers crossed she will agree to a trial)!
I will definitely have think about activities to request!
Lou +wave+
Hello Steve - long time no 'see'! Really great resources - you've gone a long way in not that long a time. Will definitely be taking the trial after Christmas and encouraging nursery and KS1 to have a play - but my lower ability Y4 would find lots of useful activities. Great stuff!

This will take you to some Christmas flipcharts ... I searched for Nativity...[clap]
Hi
I downloaded the nativity one and have adapted it for Yr R , 1 and 2. I have attached the flipcharts here. I have used the Snaith Primary images. The stable in the bottom left reveals the text and the star in the bottom left resets the page.

They are posted - just waiting for approval. :D
Hello! I think the link for the ActivAdvent Calendar is missing. When I click the link to go to the download page it opens up the Wordsearch instead!
Love the other ones though!

If you find the Advent Calendar via the 'Recent flipcharts' menu, you'll get the right flipchart.

This site is worth a look - NGfL Cymru -Interactive activities for whiteboard or computer on the Nativity story and how Christians celebrate Christmas today.
Activities are differentiated at various levels. They include an electronic version of the Nativity story, discussion topics on the meaning of Christmas, matching and sequencing activities, multiple choice question games, creating nativity pictures, matching pairs games and jigsaws.

And if you need a visual reminder of how may sleeps till Xmas you can download a Christmas Countdown timer from the following site -
http://www.fieryideas.com/freebies.php
And there's a couple of advent quizzes for KS1 and KS2 on the same site.

This may be a bit late and not brilliant but my children enjoyed playing it today! Pin the nose on the snowman.

Thanks Margaret for posting. My favorite was the reindeer chorus. I think my high school students are going to have a great time with this. I am thinking I will create a math activity to correspond to a Christmas tune to use under free play. So, we will be "playing" while we work!
