Hi:

Ever since we updated our software to 2.2.42 and drivers to 2.3 build 73 we have had some interesting issues on all of our macs (e-macs, G4 Dual 1.25 tower, and G4 Powerbook 1.67mhz all of them are non-intel versions) all run Mac OS 10.4.8;

1. The computers do not recognize the board when we plug it in for the first time. We have to unplug the cord from the usb, plug the cord back in, wait a few seconds, and then it works. We have tried this start up procedure in all possible scenarios (booting up the board first, booting up the mac first, plugging in the board into the Mac then booting up the Mac, etc) all with the same results.

2. The menu pops up inadvertantly when annotating without clicking on the barrel button (some of our teachers have disabled the button, while others pull out the "lead" of the pen, put it back in, and use it until it acts up again). A tat bit annoying one might say.

3. When docking a video in the pallet, AS uses its own video player (an outstanding one I must say) to play the video. When you double click on the playing video it fills in the whole screen for an outstanding effect. When you double click again anywhere on the board or video or slate, it returns to normal size for closing. Since the updates, this is no longer consistent, We have to double click a few times to get the wonderful effects. Outstanding idea by the Promethean develpers by the way, espescially when it was working consistently.

As an idea from Nicoli, he suggested it might be the driver, not the software update. So I went back and installed the latest oldest driver that I had, 2.1 build 45, in two of our Macs, and presto, all the above problems, disappeared (this is after we tried replacing the usb ports on one of the Macs which of course did not work). Obviously, we feel the 2.3 build 73 driver is what is causing the issues.

The problem now is that some of the issues associated with 2.1 build 45 are raising their heads out of the water, including the sluggish response time which was corrected in 2.3 build 73

Does anyone know;

1. Will the new drivers coming out with AS2.5 for the Mac resolve the issure I have mentioned?
2. When will the new software and drivers come out?
3. Does anyone with Intel Macs have the same issues I had with 2.3 build 73? I know of people who had the same issues I did with the non-Intel ones.

By the way, the ACTIVboard firmware version is 3.56

Thanks
