I have just got hold of the Mac version of Activ' Primary and wanted to offer some feedback or just my opinion. The pencil tool I love [clap] . The way you get a shadow under the annotations is great and very stylish. I like the new method of clearing a page of scribbles and shapes.
My hang up at the moment is the techno style interface . I am not keen on the mechanical look :( . As always with a Mac I relly appreciate the ability to have the tools in a floating pallet. I'm sure as I use it more I will discover more things but at the moment I am still a little hessitant.
Is this an upgrade which will be carried across to the PC platform or is it simple the Mac version?

Just like to point out that you can actually move the toolboxes around the page just as they were floating pallets! ;)

I think both versions of Activprimary (both Mac and PC) have fixed palettes with large icons as the interface (tools surrounding the flipchart) was designed to be used with younger students.
I think the floating toolbar is only made :available when you are doing "desktop" annotation.
Anyone? Do I have this incorrect?
I personally think the Mac graphics on Activprimary are much cooler than the PC ones. But we each have our own tastes! : )

Yes Lisa, you are right! The floating toolbar is just in AS. Vicky was obviously getting carried away! She does know this, she is one of our fantastic training manuals/videos/info put togetherer people... but obviously was just thinking Studio! ;) However, over third party applications, or internet or deskptop the floating toolbar will be there!+wave+

Actually, Margaret, I beg to differ. I'm running Activprimary 2.1 b43 on my Mac and can move the palettes about by clicking on the blue surround and moving them ;) ! Please see attachment! +wave+
Oooooh
I have never seen a Mac verison of AP. The toolbar looks very cool, it looks as though it could rotate, does it? Oh and is that a hoover at the bottom of the toolbar??

wow! What do I know then :D Fantastic [clap]
Lou it is a hoover at the bottom, a fantastic bit of the MAC version which allows you to "hoover" off the different elements on a page! [clap]
Woooooaaaaah!
What do we want? HOOVER!
When do we want it? NOW!:)

Vicky is right in essence, I am afraid it is a Bill Gatesism..... God Bless Microsoft!:D   :-/ :-/ :-/
Thats really sad!
Does Bill Gates know how much he is depriving us of a hoover? :p

Get a Mac[clap]. and...
Wait for AP3:(
Decisions, decisions.
No contest really! I will happily wait for AP3!:D

I really like the ACTIVprimary on the mac as well. I like the 3D look to it. It would be nice to have AP3 but in the meantime it would be nice to see AP2.5 released! Using AP2 on an Intel Mac is a bit frustrating due to the watermark! I see that AS2.5 is now out (yipee) but when is the Primary version going to be finished!

Hi Jan
2.5 Primary is just finished and awaiting final testing prior to release. Please be patient, we will try to get it released asap
Please could you announce the expected release date of the eagerly awaited 2.5 for Mac in a prominent position on the Promethean site?

Just wanted to add that I love the look of the Mac version, I was using quite an old version of AP on my Dell, so when I finally got all the bits I wanted installed on my macbook and swapped over to it, the new AP looked "dead groovy" according to colleagues and class.. I'd like to think the "woooah" every time I flip a page is because of my amazing work, but really my kids are just suckers for a snazzy page turn effect ;)
