Apologies Tim :(

It didn't make its way through testing unscathed, and has needed some modifications. Final testing is due to be completed within the next few days. After it has been through production processes it will be available just as soon as we can get it out.

Thanks Peter,

I knew that would be the case but I just want to have someone let me know that it had not dropped into a black hole.

Tim:D

I've installed 2.5 on a G4 iBook with no problem and it seems to have corrected other issues that machine was having.

The problem comes with my Intel MacBook. I just tried to install it and now I have a message saying that I can not run this update on this computer because I do not have ActivStudio Professional installed. However, I used it this morning and it works fine.

Does anyone have any information on why this might be happening?

Activstudio v2.5 web updater checks that v2.1 or v2.2 of Activstudio has already been installed. However the updater does not check the presence of the application itself but looks for the existence of a receipt package left by the previous installation.
If the receipt package does not exist the web updater will not run.
The most common reason why the receipt package does not exist is because the Activstudio application (or the whole Promethean folder within the applications folder) has been copied onto a Mac from another Mac instead of the application being installed from a CD. Another possibility is the receipt package has been deleted or corrupted in some way.
I would advise re-installing v2.1 from the CD and then running v2.5 updater again, or requesting Activstudio v2.5 CD which does not check for previous installations.

v2.5 Activprimary for Mac is currently under going testing by our QA department and will be released shortly.

This is what I did on my intel macbook and it solved the problem. :D Its worth doing because everything is much snappier - it also looks as though a number of other problems are also dealt with. [clap]

Yes there will be one very soon as I am working on it at the moment and it's in the final proofing stages!

Thanks for the suggestion. Evidently my Activstudio pkg file in the Receipts folder was corrupt. I took the pkg file from another machine and was able to upgrade without a problem at that point. For those that don't have immediate access to a disk, this workaround should help them out.

Just to avoid any confusion from people ringing up for a MAC 2.5 CD, it does not actually exist yet! It's a web update only for now.
I'm currently working on releasing the CD and this should be available soon. We ran out of time before Christmas unfortunately so I thought instead of keeping everyone waiting even longer i'd release it just as a download for now.

Thanks +wave+

Only being to upgrade via reinstalling software from a CD and then running an updater makes it difficult to work in a centrally managed software situation.

My recipts are all present, my software runs, but the installer says, "No software installed on this computer."

Certainly there must be a better solution?
