We are running two of our ActivBoards on Mac Mini's (not the intel version) and have found since the 2.2.42 update, the board and machine seem to easily and regularly lose the USB connection on the board. Prior to running the update, the machine always recognized the board--it was never an issue. Since the update, on both Mini's, almost every day the screen shows the watermark indicating the board is not connected and we have to plug and unplug once or twice or more often or sometimes move to a different port to gain connectivity. Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions?

Hi Kelle
We have two of our boards running with Mac OS 10.4.8 on Powerbook 15" 1.67 GH.
We have the same problem as you are encountering.
I have brought one of the laptops to repair the right USB port. It seems it was shorted out and replaced on warranty. Of course this was only a problem with USB devices which had their own power. Everything ran perfectly for a week.
And then I hooked up the powered board to the laptop's USB port. I started up the Mac, heard the board's tone power up again and presto, the same problems. Everyday for the last week since this happened I have to power up my laptop and board seperately, plug in the usb, click on the board to watch it NOT work, unplug the usb from the laptop, wait about three seconds, plug it back into the computer a second time, and whola, about two seconds later it works fine.
I am getting my USB ports replaced again. This has happened since the update to 2.2.42. I do not know, if it has anyting to do with the upgrade or not. But once I get my ports replaced, you can bet that I will NOT plug in the board until both the board and computer are powered up seperately, and untily the new 2.5 release is up.
At this point I can only guess that somehow the USB ports have been shorted again.

Thanks, Greg, at now I know I'm not crazy. I hadn't considered that these new machines would have shorts in their port (a rhyme???) already...but that makes sense...my next thought is that somehow the boards and the machines are not terribly compatible...hummmm....

what version of the driver are you using, and when you have the board connected, what is the firmware version it is reporting?
(basically get the board connected and show us a screenshot of the activboard pane in system preferences, all the information is usually listed at the bottom of the window)
