Hey all,
I'm at the point I'm about to go back and run the long USB cables. We mounted a board last thursday and configured the laptop to connect with bluetooth. It worked beautifully. Followed the directions, and translated them from 10.3 to 10.4, and it worked.
The next morning, the teacher comes in, and she can't get it to connect. I was under the impression that it should happen pretty much automatically, once the pairing was set. Myself and another spent several hours after that trying to get bluetooth to connect, to no avail. We uninstalled, reinstalled the drivers. We threw away the device in bluetooth prefs and readded it 200+ times. The board is seen over bluetooth, on multiple machines even. When you get to the end of the bluetooth wizard, it tells you the device offered no services, and finishes. Sometimes, after a reboot, it says the board is connected in the bluetooth settings, but the activboard prefs show that is' still searching' for the board.
We did try as well with a G4 ibook, and got the same thing - no connection.
So...Does anyone have any insight here? Is bluetooth on the boards to flaky to use consistantly right now?
Thanks
P

I just had a go and it worked straight away. Passkey 0000, it does say there are no services to use but if you click next then it says everything is fine. The blue light on the board then goes solid instead of flashing, and I got this in my activdriver preference pane.

this is with the latest driver.

It actually worked to start off with the slighly older driver (wanna say 50b or something like that). Then it just quit. Would not connect.
I updated the driver the next day after the board refused to connect, to the 73 and never got that to work.
I tried on some other machines as well. I have no PCs w/bluetooth to try, but I'm starting to suspect a hardware issue on the board.

will the board go into bluetooth mode? ie when you hold the right click button over the light in the corner, will it start flashing blue? if you then do a search will it see the board? can you see the board with something else like your phone?

actually, i probably shouldnt be getting into this on a forum, it's probably best if you contact your technical support directly, http://www.prometheanworld.com/ then select your country, go to the support section then you will see the different methods we have for contacting support.

What country are you from?
