I am an IT person at my school and my teachers are having to calibrate their boards almost everyday. What could be happening?

Calibration settings can only be saved if the users have rights to save data on the local drive.

If these are networked machines and locked down, then this could be the problem. Login as admin and calibrate and see if that works.

calibration settings are stored in the registry:

\KHLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ACTIVdrv\
\KHLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ActivDRV_U SB\
\KHLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ActivDRVco ntrol\

depending on how the device is connected.

The person callibrating the board will need modify access to these registry keys or the settings will not keep after the next reboot.

I'm having one of those days, i posted this then realised it was mac, doh! I'll leave my message here just to highlight how stupid I can be on an off day, it is a reminder for me to not do it again

Well I thought I was learning something! I thought that Intel macs now must have registries! Then I read the edit :D

We use macs...I do have to recalibrate my board every now and then, but not daily...I imagine that my calibration is being saved...I wonder if jartibee can confirm and tell you how to set this up...I imagine you would like each teacher to be able to save their own calibrations...otherwise you will be Head of Calibration as well as Head of IT!

No Chris, teachers don't save their own calibrations (it would be mayhem if they did) - its a board/projector specific setting.
