Open the International System preferences on your MAC and check the Chinese boxes under the Input Menu tab. Ensure that the Show input menu in menu bar is checked also. You can then select the input language you wish to type in on your keyboard from the Input menu on the menu bar (usually represented by a flag!).

Open Text Edit and you can start typing in Chinese. Now to get the Chinese on your flipchart all you have to do is select it and click on it in the text edit window and drag it onto your flipchart page or copy and paste it. The only drawback is that the chinese cannot be edited once in the flipchart otherwise it will revert back to English.

Let me know if this works for you.

Is it possible to set the handwriting recognition tool to understand foreign languages?

Hi,

Only if you have chosen to the requisite language choice from the drop down box in the User Input Option Settings..... If you right click on the handwriting recognition icon on your toolbar it will offer you the chance to go to handwriting settings....

At the moment I think it is only possible for the handwriting recognition tool to recognise only English, German and French. I think this is more down to the Mac OS rather than Activstudio as you have to open the Ink preferences to change the language!
