Hi all,

My latest problems is that I want to do Flipchart recording in the Mac version of ASPE2. I cannot find the recording tool in the tool store and the help document has it listed but it is not link to anything.

Was this feature elinimated from the Mac version? It is simple feature in the PC version and I want to teach it to my fellow teachers that have just recieved macs.

It is my understanding that it is no longer included in the Mac version.

The immanent release of Activstudio v2.5 Mac includes a QuickTime based video recorder tool that allows movies to be made of a presentation. It does not have an equivalent to the Windows Flipchart recorder tool.
However there is workaround solution that may meet your requirements. If you launch Script Editor in the Applications::Applescript folder and click on the Record button any actions you make will be recorded in the Script Editor. After you have finished recording actions click on the Stop button. You can then either replay you actions by clicking Run in the Script Editor or you can save the script as an application and add it to Activstudio shortcut bar.

Thanks to each of you. While awaiting v2.5 I will try the applescript work around. Any I deas why the feature was eliminated? The Math teachers in my school find it very useful.

It's not that the flipchart chart recorder capability was eliminated from Mac Activstudio. It never existed! Due to architectural differences in Activstudio Windows and Mac the current implementation of Windows flipchart recorder can’t be simply ported to Mac. However we are working hard to implement this feature Mac as soon as we can.

Thanks for the clarification Jos. I should have guess that was the reason. I know keeping the program exactly the same on multiple OS can be a real challenge.

I will teach the teachers at our achool how to use Applesript as a subsitute.
