How are people using the new MacBook(intel) with their boards. Are you using direct USB or a serial adapter. I am having problems.

Thanks,
TIm

I am using the USB connection. Ask Tech support for an Intel driver. Make sure you have the latest version of ActiveStudio.

I'm not sure if the voting is supported on the Intel chip yet. Does anyone know?

Thanks Mark, i have the latest but not working yet. I will talk to the tech folks hopefully next week.

Lisa, from what I have read ActiVotes are not working currently with at least the Itels, but will be in v2.5. Considering that the latest version is 2.2, I am not sure how long we are going to have wait for that version. We are planning on installing Boot Camp, Win XP and ASPE 2.5 on our MacBooks to get arround this. I am not sure if it is going to work or not.

Has anyone else out there tried this solution?

I have everything working on the Intel Macbook Pro. The latest driver makes the Activotes and ActiveSlate work now.

The board was set up in the spring, I was amazed that it worked, but it did. Doesnt' do us a ton of good, as the projector hookup is run with the USB right there, set it up as a test to see if it was an option I'd want to allow.

About the Macs that have the new Intel chips. I was told by US tech support today that the ACTIVotes and ACTIVslate will not work with the latest ACTIVdriver. The fix won't take place until v. 2.5 which is suppose to be out soon. In the meantime, I'm curious about installing Boot Camp, Win XP and ASPE 2.5 on the MacBooks. Does Boot Camp come with the new Macs or is this a third party software? Has anyone actually tried this yet? So, would you uninstall the Mac ACTIVstudio and just run the program through Boot Camp and ACTIVstudio PE for the PC? Please educate me! I'm very novice on the Mac

Most everything works on the Mac side. If you want to use Boot Camp you have to download it from the Apple site and install it and then install a copy of Windows XP. Then once you get the Windows side of it working install the ACtivestudio software for Windows. Everything works as it's supposed to on the Windows side also.

HI Shawna,

I was planning to do the same thing. My understanding is that you should not need to uninstall your Mac version. Basically BootCamp allows to you boot your machine as either a Win environment or a Mac environment. BootCamp does not currently ship with a MAC but is available for free download from the Apple site:
http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/

You will also need a registered version of Win XP. Then install you ASPE 2.5 software and you should be off and running.

I will let you know when I get mine done and ask you to do the same.

Thanks,
Tim

We have done some preliminary testing with Boot Camp on Intel Macs and everything appears to work as expected.

Activstudio 2.5 which supports voting on the Intel Mac will be released very soon.
