Adding sounds to count down timer

I use both the Mac (2.2) and PC (2.5) versions of Activstudio. I have figured out how to add sounds to the options for the count down timer on the PC, but can't find the correct sound folder on the Mac. Does anyone know where the sound folder is (on the Mac) that has the count down timer sounds, such as bigben.wav? On the PC, it is in the Program Files, in the same ActivStudio folder that contains the actual program.

Also, I theoretically understand how to drag images to the shortcut bar on the right side of the toolbox. However, I haven't been able to get it to work in the Mac version (2.2) of ActivStudio. Any suggestions?

Hey Deana,

I haven't tried to add the sounds on the countdown timer on my Mac, but I do add things to my toolbar on my Mac all the time. I'm still on 2.1 but you have to drag the item from the page to the toolbar using the "hand" tool on the top of the image. The same thing for the trashcan and for moving something from one page to another when you are in the page selector mode (when you see the pages lined up in a column on the sides.)

Have they come out with 2.2 for Mac yet? In 2.1, when you select the countdown clock, at the bottom of the setup menu for it is a dropdown window that has sounds listed. Just select the one you want from the list.

I have looked and looked on the Mac to try to find the sounds that appear in the timer so that we can add more. Can't find any folder with any of those .wav files in them. Maybe they're hard wired in there or something? We need someone with some knowledge on the code maybe??

*The location to add a sound files for the Count Down Timer is inside the Activstudio application package. As well as .wav files, AIFF and mp3 files are supported. To add a sound follow the steps below:

1) Show Application Package Contents.

Locate Activstudio 2 Professional application in Applications::Promethean::ACTIVstudio2 folder. Right (cntrl) click on the application. A pop-up menu is displayed. Select ‘Show Package Contents’. [See attached image ShowPackageContents]

2) Navigate to StopWatchSounds folder.*

The location to add sound files is:
*Activstudio 2 Professional::Contents::Resources::StopWatchSounds *

3) Copy sound file into this StopWatchSounds folder.*

In this example I have used the excellent stereo Swooosh sound file ‘Mail Sent.aiff’ from Apple’s Mail application. [See attached image CountDown]
