Hi
Thought this paper attached very useful in helping construct effective multiple choice questions. Some interesting ideas. This could help when re designing summative tests.
This looks really useful. Thanks - I will make it available to our staff.

Hi Michele,
Thanks for this document it looks really good. You don't happen to know if there is a modified version for infants and juniors?
I'm interested in how teachers can best use the voting system to support constructive learning through high quality questioning.
Best wishes, Andrew

Andrew really good question. Promethean has been exploring ways to facilitate better questioning techniques through the development of our "question templates" available with our voting product "ActivprimaryMV"
I have attached a few examples.

Hi Michele,
Thanks for these examples they are really useful. I have the MV CD, so I will have a good look at the other examples. Out of interest, do these flips come with page notes, or are these to be found on the MV CD too? Have Promethean produced any literature that would help teachers with how to blend a range of different questions across a topic to support their planning and children's learning?
Thanks for your help and suggestions.
Best wishes, Andrew

Hi, I have been researching MCQ for flipcharts and there has been quite a lot of research into pods at Glasgow Uni (Steven Draper). There are a number of links to papers that have been written and links to other Users.
I have produced a number of Flipcharts for ECDL (+16 users) I have used the question master then created the flipchart........ Is there any way to create a template from the question master? Once the flipchart is created you have to go through each one setting it up. AND is there a way of adding a brick background once the flipchart has been created without going back to the question master. I can put a plain background on but can't find the bricks.

Hi Lesley,
Thanks for your message. I will investigate the Glasgow Uni lead on the effective use of questions. Do you know if much work has been carried out on the Primary use of MCQ?
Are the question masters you describe on the MV CD and do you have any examples you can share of the question flips you have created? I'm sure my Secondary colleagues would be really interested.
Best wishes, Andrew

Hi the question master was downloaded when the software was put on our system. It is easier to use as you can copy/paste from word rather than work through each flipchart. I have enclosed 3 flipcharts that I use for ECDL. [clap] [clap]
I found the question master to be very inflexible. I note that LesleyH complains about the lack of a template and I have to agree. In fact, whilst AS2 is excellent for use in the classroom it is frustrating to prepare large numbers of resources using it - it desperately needs a format painter to copy the formating from one object to another, if not a template system to allow styles to be applied to a whole flipchart.
I think that when I last used the question master I found that it handled questions with graphics very poorly, but I forget exactly what the problem was - perhaps others have found the same thing. All in all, I found it just as quick to create ACTIVote resources without the question master - by the time you've been in and sorted out the poor formatting that the QM created you might as well have laid it out yourself.
