Another updated 2.5 patch upgrade for Activstudio PE (version 2.5.72) has been made available on the website at:

http://www.Prometheanworld.com/uk/html/customer_care/software/studio2PEpatch.shtml (http://www.prometheanworld.com/uk/html/customer_care/software/studio2PEpatch.shtml)

Likewise another updated 2.5 patch upgrade for Activprimary (version 2.5.67) has been made available on the website at:

http://www.Prometheanworld.com/uk/html/customer_care/software/primary2patch.shtml (http://www.prometheanworld.com/uk/html/customer_care/software/primary2patch.shtml)

As before BOTH versions require an existing 2.1 version of the software to be installed. If this is not the case then a double download and install is required. Please follow the instructions in the respective areas.

These patches fix various issues with the earlier 2.5 releases for USA and UK and are also working for International English downloads (Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada etc.). [clap]

Note: These releases also support, French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Hong Kong (English with trad. Chinese input) and Arabic language variants.

Some nice new features in 2.5 – click the “Why Upgrade” link.+wave+

Pete,

I am assuming that we need to take the 2.5 versions off and go back to a clean install of 2.1...

I had to because it started telling me that it could not find the source. I uninstalled the 2.5 versions and reinstalled the 2.1 versions and voila...2.5 installed.

Bill,

Mine installed straight over the top of the old 2.5.34 install...

yes, i've been informed that it will udpate any install that is greater than 2.1, this includes existing 2.5 installs

Mine also happily installed over the older 2.5 (Primary). It does have an annoying glitch though: if you write over a small but specific (5cm2) area of the board, the flpcht will go completely blank- you then need to 'undo' and make sure to avoid that patch of board in future. This problem seems to be intermittent and doesn't happen on every page, in the same area etc. Similar to problems we've had on other boards with the 2.5 patch installed.

I hadn't had any problems with the new version before installing the latest patch, this eve it's been crashing my laptop whenever I am trying to create a video through AP, it's also loading in a very weird way, saying it can't load the data and has to search for it..... am getting thoroughly fed up of it, I don't really want to take it out and reload it all again but will most likely have to.

Was it taken back off again?

Dug,

Mine never used to do this, but it's started doing it a lot now. (everything going blank when you touch a certain part) Do you know if it's been fixed? Is there anything I can do to avoid it? Very hard when it's in a different place every time and if you click on the same spot again, it's fine! ????

My board was also doing this after the patch upgrade. I phoned technical support and they gave me a way to resolve it. Here goes:

Click on the dancing man
Click on the menu button (...)
Go to settings, then click on flipchart objects.
A window will open and at the top there is a box that says High Quality.
The box that says lines and shapes will have a tick in it. Uncheck this box and click OK.

Since I have done this on boards around our school there have been no disappearing screens.

Hope that helps someone!

Thanks Lou, I'd had the same advice, but unlike your generous self, neglected to put a post up.
It sorted the problem on our boards.

No problem!

I have had to resolve it several times on the same machine - I think this is because our computers are networked and I have been logged on as a different user each time. Well at least I hope that is the reason!

Oh yes, me too. Not because of network, but teachers logging on under different user names on the same machine. AP obviously doesn't 'remember' the settings accross different users.

Thanks LouB, I just changed the settings and hopefully that'll solve it! +wave+
