We are having a strange problem with 2 machines that are using older versions of ActivStudio. I have tried to eliminate possible problems and it doesn't seem to be hardware related.

The problem is tha thte teacher exclusively uses ActivStudio to do her projects. Somehow, it seems that the hard drive is filling up and then will not allow anything to happen. The hard drive was down to 5.1 Mb yesterday (on a 30 Gb hard drive). I was able to get it back to 1.5 Gb but within 2 hours it was all filled up again. I suspect there are temporary files that are tricking the machine into thinking it is filled up. I don't know if ActivStudio has temporary files that could be a culprit. Any suggestions anyone has would be awesome.

Hi,

The program does create temporary files, but not that many, can you try repairing the permissions on that disk (utilities>disk utility>repair disk permissions) and see if that helps you. It may be that a permission is wrong and studio can't remove these temporary files.

Also, try keeping an eye on the Activity monitor and see if anything is behaving aggressively on that.

It could be another program.

Or the teacher likes downloading things :p

Hi Stuart,

Thanks for the possible solutions. Going to try them next. I searched and scoured the machine for possible downloads and other things and nothing shows up yet.

I'll keep trying :)
