Hi

I am reasonably new to using MACs and am finding my way round them (aren't they fab btw?! :D) I really should know the answer to this but sadly I don't....... is there a Flipchart recorder available in the MAC version of the software?

I have searched the toolstore but cannot find it in there. Perhaps it is something only available to Windows users? If so, that is a shame.

Can anyone shed any light for me please?

Many thanks.

Laura

Sorry unrelated, I know, but is it actually any good (MacOS)? I have my concerns over compatibility issues with Windows software. I guess, MACs would be safer against viruses & spy/adware because all software out there just happens to be made for Windows BUT is the OS actually decent? I'm quite IT proficient but I've never really looked into it.

(No doubt David Bunting will reply to this - he loves his MACs as I remember!!)

Hi Dave

I'm hoping not to sound like a MAC junkie now.... or a MAC geek.... (apologies to other MAC users!!) but I have to say using a MAC is fantastic!! I have always been a Windows user and have previously always shied away from MACs believing them to not be 'of the real world'! However, having a partner who is MAC mad and moved his iMAC in to live with us just over a year ago I haven't had much choice but to get used to them.

The beautiful dome based iMAC was quickly relegated to my office while my other half swiftly updated to the G5 and then updated again when the slimmer version came out! My Christmas present was a beautiful Powerbook. I've been amazed at just how easy it has been to make the transition and how beautifully easy it is to use. I have, so far, not come across anything I can't do on the MAC that I can do on the PC and the compatibility doesn't seem to cause too many problems.

A really fabulous thing is that I can create a flipchart on my work PC laptop and then open it up in ACTIVprimary or ACTIVstudio on the MAC - it works like a dream!

I would still like to know about the flipchart recorder though - does anyone know if it exists in the MAC version?

Laura :D

Sadly there is no flipchart recorder on the Mac. The closest you can get is to launch the Script Editor (found in Applications::AppleScript folder) and click on the ‘Record’ button on the ‘Untitled’ window. Now if you go back to ACTIVstudio the actions you perform will be recorded as AppleScript events by the Script Editor. Don’t forget to turn of recording when you have finished. (Not all actions are recorded e.g. dragging from resource library).
The actions can then be played back by clicking on the 'Run' button in Script Editor.

Hey Laura I am absolutely delighted you've seen the light :D A great big hug! I haven't tried AS2 on the Mac yet but its' on my list as I'm at a college soon where they use Macs.
Yes Dave I am a Mac fanatic. Virus free, spam free and so few glitches and much more stable than Windows. But I don't need to say anything. An ecstatic ex-Windows user like Laura is the best recommendation you can get [clap] [clap]
