Hello all,
Does anyone know how you can lock items to the background so that they cant be selected. I have visual organisers that have statements to be sorted connected to them. I know that you can put something on a bottom layer but sometimes that's not enough. Is there a way to lock the item to the background.
Thanks in advance!

Hi there

It's quite easy - just right click on the object you want to lock, choose Edit from the menu and you will then see the option to Lock your object. To unlock it just repeat this choosing unlock instead [clap]

There are several ways to do this - "Lock" as Laura suggested fixes the object in position on its own layer. This is great for those effects when you want to slide something behind an object to hide it, or bring something out from behind to reveal it. You can in fact Select an object that is locked (right-click), even go on to Edit if it is a Text Object (double-click).
"Lock on background" fixes the object on the Background - useful if you want to place a Grid over the object. Go on down the menu past Lock to Layer and there are several options including Lock On Background.
Most times it doesn't matter, but the subtle differences give you plenty of options for dreaming up great activities.
