Dear all,
We have two activotes, therefore 64 pods. I have registered these pods according to thier number on about 15 pc's. One of the pods was found to be faulty and was replaced and I would like to register the new pod with the faulty pods number. It seems however that I have to re-register all of the pods again to achieve this? Does anyone know if it is possible give a pod a particular number?
Hope this makes some sort of sense?!?!?
Thanks
Barby.

Hi,
Very good question but unfortunately I don't think it's actually possible! Maybe someone else knows otherwise.. !

If you go into device registration and select the number of the faulty vote then click 'Remove' you can just remove this faulty one. Then register your replacement vote and it will fill the gap. Is this what you meant?

As you live just down the road, I will pop in and see you.....
I have never done this before so we can try it together!! [clap] Of course, with my technical prowess, you maybe better off without my help!!
Before anyone says anything!!! It is preferential treatment. This school was the first school in West Sussex to buy Promethean Boards and the Head went for whole school because she believed in their potential. Schools like this need looking after!

Hello,
Thanks for the suggestions, I have now removed the faulty pod and registered the new pod and indeed it filled in the gap. The Device number incremented by one whereas the device name (in our case A30) registered correctly. I suppose that the "device" number is of no relevance?
When I tried to test it in a flipchart no devices were recognised !?"?£?"?!"?! I may have to upgrade the driver!
I'll give you a call Margaret, Thanks.

Again, I too have this problem - having had a brand new faulty pod replaced, I can't work out how to get the replacement pod onto the system.
Do I have to do the whole install and register again?
Thanks

The easiest way for you to deal with this is to contact Technical Support and if you are having problems they will talk you through it. +wave+

Martyn,
The advice I gave to Barby should work for you too:
If you go into device registration and select the number of the faulty vote then click 'Remove' you can just remove this faulty one. Then register your replacement vote and it will fill the gap.
