MAC OS X: New ACTIVstudio Professional 2.0.16 and ACTIVboard driver 2.2.48 Released!

Hi,

Promethean had released a new update of MAC OS X version of ACTIVstudio Professional 2.0.16 and NEW ACTIVboard driver 2.2.48 today!

Just tried the new driver - WOW!!! [clap] - Driver Sleep FIXED finally and Bluetooth Mac-proACTIV works cool now

What was said to be new in 2.2.48 release:
1. Fixes ACTIVboard becomes unavailable after waking Mac from sleep
issue
2. Added support for using ACTIVboard via bluetooth cannel with both
embedded and external bluetooth connectors
3. Added extra countries to the "Select the region in which you are to use
ACTIVote/ACTIVslate" option
4. Can be run for boards that have no support for ACTIVote
5. Added an "Enable logging to Console" option that allows to turn on
output ACTIVboard operation session to log
6. Enabled changing ACTIVboard bluetooth device name

I'm very happy with it, especially the logging, the sleep problem and the running with boards with no activote.

i think thats about 99% of things covered.

the driver team must be kicking back feeling rather chuffed with themselves.

*note to self, must break the mac activdriver to give the software team something to do*

Promethean kindly send me this version to replace a US version we've been using. Haven't loaded yet due to looming inspection. However will it fix the following?

• right click (barrel button) won't work in ActivStudio
• Mac menus won't auto highlight as you hover over them
• applications open BEHIND current app

why is there no UK map in the shortcuts?

Hello,

Could you tell more on your first 3 notes, e.g.:

1) right click (barrel button) won't work in ActivStudio

Tip: there is a checkbox in the ACTIVboard system preferences PrefPane selecting which enables barrel button click. Additionally ACTIVstudio among its tools has a disable Right/barrel button click that works exactly inside ACTIVstudio - try these.

2) Mac menus won't auto highlight as you hover over them

Actually the menus auto-highlight when you hoover over them IF you made a single click on a menu - otherwise if you just placed a cursor above it this won't happen, you can check this even with other applications including Finder


3) applications open BEHIND current app

Could you point out the applications you refer to? Certainly I found that help viewer launched by clicking help buttons in ACTIVstudio model dialogs or palettes opens below the ACTIVstudio, e.g., ACTIVstudio does not go to back or hide, but its windows still remain the front-most.


4) why is there no UK map in the shortcuts?

I found these were removed from the Windows version as well so guess this was made intentionally. Do you really lack them?

No, menus don't highlight unless the mouse button is held down.

I really miss the UK and Europe maps in geography lessons! The US version HAS retained an instant USA map.

Really strange it takes so long. What is your Macs spec? What version number/build is shown in the ACTIVboard prefpane? Also I guess there is something to do with stylus and maybe it requires replacement.

If of help, can write down correct full steps on reinstalling the driver

Go to main toolbox menu button menu>Toolbox>Toolstore which will bring you toolstore from which using drag and drop you can customize all your toolboxes. There in the the second row (Presentation tools) you can see rightmost button with mouse icon on

Yes, this is a standard menu behavior on Mac

No- none of our machines (MacMini) will work. I've tried all the combinations of toolbox button and pref pane.

Yes, this is a standard menu behavior on Mac

No, it isn't. With one click in the menu bar, as you hover down the rest of the menu, the available items auto-highlight. Except on our minis with ActivStudio! The other 83 Macs are fine.

..except the sleep issue. Small problem, but our Minis can't be allowed to sleep or else the board is "not there"
