Hello,

I teach second grade at Kimmel Farm Elementary Problem Base Learning Academy in Winston-Salem, NC. I am looking to connect with other classrooms from all over the United States (or the world) through the exchange of flipcharts. Any grade level will work. If you are interested, please email me at cyarbrou@wsfcs.k12.nc.us .

Waiting to hear from you!

hi Cherie,
My name is Siobhán Mc Andrew and I'm a primary school teacher from Ireland. My school is based in Leixlip co. Kildare about 40mins from Dublin city.
I teach 11-13 year olds at the moment and I'm also studying for a M.Ed in Digital learning part time.
We have been partly funded by INTEL and have wireless laptops and interactive whiteboards in most of our classrooms.
I was wondering what kinds of projects you were interested in? If my class were not suitable, I may be able to link you to a colleague with a lower grade within the school.
Kind regards,
Siobhán Mc Andrew

Hi Siobhan,

Thank you so much for responding. I have a Promethean Activboard in my classroom, and we are using the ActivInspire software. I would like for my students to create a flipchart about our school and share it with your students. In return, I would like to receive a flipchart about your school. The age of your students is fine with me. However, if you think your students would find this project too simple, I would greatly appreciate your help in connecting me with one of your colleagues in the lower grades. Let me know what you think. It was nice hearing from you!!!

Sincerely,
Cherie Yarbrough+wave+

Hi Cherie & Siobhán.

Don't forget that you can download the free Elluminate software from Planet to connect your schools together - all you need is an internet connection, sound and a webcam:

http://www.Prometheanplanet.com/server.php?show=nav.16582

There are some video examples of schools that have already done this in the ActivRoom section and I'm sure your class will have great fun. The software allows up to three classrooms at one time to connect and meet 'virtually', you can even control the lesson from your Activboard in the States so that it projects on to Siobhán's Activboard in Ireland.

Let us know how you get on. :)
